I have been going to a Bible study every Sunday night for the past two years. Every week we start with the same question… How have you seen God in your life??… This question is a great way to see how God actually interferes with our lives and the miracles he can do.

I have to write blogs for this mission trip and I did not really know what I should write on. I was thinking about the bible study I have back home and how we always start with the same question. Anyways I have decided that I am going to use this blog to answer this question… How have I seen God working in my life recently?

And in the past month I’ve seen God in numerous situations.

So, we were Downtown Nashville Evangelizing and we came across this man selling flowers, We talked to him for a bit and offered him a bible. After talking for a bit I asked if he was a Muslim and he said he was. This man would not take the bible, but after talking a bit longer he said, fine i’ll give it to my roommate.       Then we continue walking down the street and another man selling flowers comes up to us and ask if we would help support his family and buy some flowers, we told the man we did not have any money, but what we could do is to pray that he will be able to sell all his flowers to be able to support his family. So we lay hands on the man and start praying, the man breaks out in tears and thanks us. He quickly ran off emotional.   Now this is the crazy part, Later on that night we meet up with other people evangelizing and one of them told about how they ran into a guy selling flowers and told him about Jesus and how he accepted Christ that night. My friend then asked where that guy was and what time, It turns out that the guy with the flowers had came to know and accept Christ ten minutes before we had prayed over him. No wonder he got so emotional, he just came to Christ and now other Christians pray over him WOW. Wait there is   more …  A couple days later I realized that the Muslim flower guy we gave the bible to was the other guys roommate… So now This guy has accepted Christ, gets prayed over, and when he goes home his Muslim roommate is going to give him a bible. Now this is God y’all. God so badly wants us to come to know him. Even when we follow in little obedient things like going out on a Friday night to a drunk lost party city and proclaiming the great news will he show up.

So, I had just been invited to this evangelism worship thing downtown and I was kind of nervous to go, I finally go and there is only like 20 people there, But yet I knew like 5 of the people because they had all donated to my mission. They had all donated unconnected to one another and a few of them I had never met before. It was so amazing to see people who did not know me donate to me and then I run into these people at a evangelism night. Wow Also later on that night I was walking down Broadway , I had my “firmly planted” fundraising shirt on and a man came up to me and asked if I had donated to that guy as well. I go “I’m the guy you bought the shirt from!!” It turns out this guy had heard that someone was going on a mission trip and donated to the cause. Then we happen to run into each other. So amazing how God has shown me people who have donated to me.

Once again I was downtown and we started talking to this homeless man, he knew so much about the bible and had memorized so much scripture, I offer him a bible but he will not take it and keeps giving the bible back to us, Then a hot dog vender walks up and takes the bible and goes I will read it with you every day while at work, He turns to us and tells us that the man can’t read and that he always hangs around the hot dog stand. This is definitely another God thing, A man who cant read gets offered a bible, but then a man nearby joins in and says he will read it to him. Jesus will make a way for those he wants in the kingdom. This man who couldn’t read had so much faith in God, and then God helps him out. WOW.  Now writing this something I just realized is that the man at the hot dog stand was going to read with the homeless man not to him. They are both going to read together daily. You can see so much kindness and love in this story. I love it.

I later ran into another homeless man holding a funny sign up. We started talking to him and the conversation went for a hour. It turns out that this man is a christian and he lives his life homeless by choice, He said he just wants to spread joy to everyone who walks past him by holding up funny signs.  I find it so cool to run into people who do what they can do best to spread joy. This man has nothing but yet has everything and more than most people will ever have…JOY.   I love how god led us to this man.

About a week later I am back downtown, We bring a ” Ask me about Jesus” sign and stand on Broadway. These two 23 year old girls walk us to us and ask who is this Jesus?  They were from California and Colorado, and had actually never heard the name Jesus. So we tell them briefly about Jesus but they are hesitant and think we are crazy (which we are). One person I am with then gets a word from god and ask one girl about her split family, then we pray over them. The girl from California was still hesitant but the girl from Colorado broke out in tears. I never ran into them again but I sure do believe God is after them.

I find it so amazing to see God working to get people into his kingdom. I’ve heard stories of blind men, deaf men, and the disabled being healed in Jesus’ name.  How can one not say there is a god when they can see god clearly working. So throughout this next year I want to keep answering the question ” How have I seen god working in my life recently?”  and if you want please share how you’ve seen god moving in your life recently.  Hit the comments
