I really wanted to give a good update before I left Costa Rica, but I did not and went all the way through Panama without one as well… I am home now.
I would like to explain and tell stories but this blog would be 100’s of pages long. I absolutely loved this mission trip and the things we did and people we met. I would love to give a quick overview of my ministry and then I am going to put a bunch of pictures in!!!! 90 percent of my photos are the wrong file size or something so I cannot post them, so I will try next week on my social medias…they probably wont post because they are way too beautiful! haha
My last month in Costa Rica
Two teams from the squad went to this place called Jaco Beach. We lived with an expedition squad as well. A huge tourist hotspot. People were from all over the world going to this beach for a wide variety of things, especially drugs. We quickly learned what was happening around us. Prostitutes were all over the place, drugs were everywhere. This place had so many lost and hurting. I would be offered cocaine daily, but I used it as an opportunity to tell them about Jesus.
Our ministry here was working with the City and painting the light post. This gave us a reason to be out in the streets and a wonderful opportunity to talk to people. We would help sunday school at the church, have garage sales, babysit, and surf ministry. This month flew by and we headed to San Jose for a few days then to Panama
Panama
The first place we went to in Panama was called Boquete. We stayed at a Ywam base where we lived with a DTS and students from an indigenous tribe. Here we worked with Ngabe indigenous people. We lead bible studies, devotionals, cooked, evangelized, built, landscaped, coffee farm, greenhouses, agrievangelized, went to villages, mechanic shops, and etc.
Then we had debrief in David and went to Bocas del Toro after. We stayed at a Ywam base again and lived with a DTS from Hawaii. We really got to know them. This base was on an island and had coral reefs right outside, monkeys, we were in the rainforest jungle. The most beautiful place I have ever been to. Our main ministry here was helping the base. And we worked with the villages around us and even went to one to build a house. I cooked alot and chopped down huge trees and built farm lands.
I honestly cannot explain… haha. so amazing
