Learning to TASTE the day
Every moment, taking it in and tasting it.
I heard in a sermon the other day this analogy: have you ever just craved your favorite food and then you finally go out to get it. You look down and then you realized, “ I already ate half of it and I wasn’t even paying attention, I was thinking about something else”.
So many of us spend our “quiet time” and time with the Lord like this. You may open your Bible or go to church and hear a sermon or whatever, BUT you are thinking about something else… plans for the day, finances, politics, and are just so caught up in the world. And you miss the moment. You forgot to taste it!!!
How beautiful is this!!.. the King of kings, the Creator of the universe, the all sovereign Lord God almighty lets us approach his throne Boldly and loves us so much!
Even while I’m writing this, I forgot to taste the moment. I looked down and my coke was almost empty. I had missed the view and taste. I do this all the time, but what if I would just start Stopping and tasting the moment.
Psalm 34:8
”Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him”
I currently send this from Jaco, Costa Rica… A beach town where I will be doing ministry this next month. I am excited to share the projects I will be working on soon!!!
